Have you ever wondered how many times you can press a spacebar before your fingers fall off? Well, you're certainly not alone in your curiosity.
The world record for the number of keystrokes on a spacebar is held by Simon Layland, a British computer enthusiast. In 2013, he set out to prove that he could click an entire keyboard from top to bottom with the single stroke of his finger. He managed to do it in just under five hours, smashing the previous record of six minutes and seven seconds.
To accomplish this feat, Layland had to keep up a steady pace of four to six keyboards per minute without resting or slowing down. He not only decided to break the world record for pressing the spacebar consecutively, but also for pressing all 108 keys on the keyboard using only one finger.
When asked how he was able to achieve such an impressive feat and what motivated him throughout his challenge, Layland responded: "I guess it was more of a personal challenge than anything else – something I wanted to conquer and focus my energy on. Plus I'm an avid gamer so having fast fingers and being able to manipulate a keyboard quickly is definitely an asset!"
